A Future-Proof Identity

My Accessories, an online multichannel e-commerce company, approached us to create a new brand to reflect and support their vision for the future growth of the business. The brief was to communicate to a wider audience what the products are, and the value in them – blank promotional gifts that the customer adds their artwork to themselves.

The original logo, featuring a keyring icon, was becoming obsolete as the business was rapidly expanding the range to include badges, fridge magnets, paper weights and picture frames, amongst other new products. So, the design needed a rethink to make it both relevant, and future-proof.

The Adventure

We started with visiting the premises, understanding the products and the people who bought them, and learning about the strong brand values within My Accessories. We discovered the only thing the customer needs to worry about is adding their own imagination to the products once they arrive. This process brought about the concept of ‘My Accessories: Our products.

Your imagination.’ This provides a succinct message to customers – we provide the rest, just add your own creativity. This concept was taken through to the logo design, with three soft square shapes overlapping each other, imitating the way the products are assembled. It also represents a ‘thought bubble’ – which brings out the imaginative aspect of the product.

From my initial meeting I liked the way Kate took the time and effort to understand what we were all about, and the branding concepts that she delivered back to me totally hit the brief. Working with Cudos Creative has been a real breath of fresh air, and we have since continued to work on other projects.

The Destination

As part of a larger Google Adwords/SEO project, My Accessories wanted to drive more traffic to the website, and we needed to make sure that the website was a good proposition for new visitors. The brand makeover across our online platforms needed to generate higher levels of engagement. The results have been very pleasing, within its first 6 months of relaunch they have seen an increase in sessions of 60% and an increase in transactions of 34%. The brand is now continuing to be rolled out across mailers, social channels and product catalogues.
