CUDOS Creative supports Tailored Lifestyle in their quest to build better communities

CUDOS Creative, a design and marketing agency in Sutton Coldfield, have been commissioned by new developers Tailored Lifestyle Group to create a new brand identity, and more recently reveal a vibrant new hoarding design for their first development in Telford.

Tailored Lifestyle is a visionary developer with a mission to provide accessible and affordable homes that prioritise community and well-being. By focusing on tailored solutions for specific resident groups in highest need, they challenge conventional market practices and put people at the forefront of their initiatives. Dedicated to sustainable development, they exclusively utilise brownfield and greyfield sites, ensuring responsible land sourcing and construction practices.

Based on the site of an old listed pub, Tailored Lifestyle’s first development will form a collection of 11 individual units and a communal space, specifically designed for people with disabilities or neurodiverse conditions such as autism. The managed property will give these people the ability to embrace their independence in a beautiful home with the support they need to thrive – so it was vital the hoarding design around the development would convey this.

The logo brief highlighted the importance of incorporating symbology related to ‘growth,’ which influenced a vibrant logo design featuring a series of multicoloured ‘homes’ that collectively form a flower graphic. For the hoarding design around the development, it was essential to showcase the branding while also presenting something unique that reflects the positive transformation the new site offers. The concept centered on “opening doors,” depicting a sequence of brightly coloured front doors ajar. This approach not only sparks curiosity about the development, but also serves as a powerful metaphor for the opportunities this building will provide to its future residents. The hoarding is bright and dynamic, conveying a strong message that this development will be a source of immense pride for the community for years to come.

Nick Wood, Site Manager, expressed his enthusiasm for the project: “I’m excited to be involved in redeveloping such a significant building in Wellington. I used to drink here, so bringing the derelict building back to life is fantastic.” He continued, “We had hoped to retain the entire existing structure, but it compromised the design. By working closely with Telford Council and the Planning Department, we developed a scheme that truly meets the needs of its future residents. We retained the original frontage, demonstrating what can be achieved when everyone collaborates toward a shared goal.”

Kieran Danby, Director of Tailored Lifestyle Group, said of the brand and hoarding design: “Hearing comments like ‘fresh’, ‘just what the town needs’, and ‘so different from other sites’ is exactly what we set out to achieve. The passing public appreciate the effort, even car drivers are sounding their horn with a thumbs up! The response has been incredible, and it’s a testament to the vision and creativity behind this project. This is exactly the kind of impact we want to make. We’re looking forward to seeing what CUDOS comes up with next!”

Kate Curry, Director of CUDOS Creative, said, “Working with organisations unafraid to disrupt their industry is a dream for us at CUDOS, and Tailored Lifestyle are absolutely doing this. They wanted to give us creative freedom with the hoarding project to come up with something unexpected and powerful, and truly representative of what they were trying to achieve with the business, so we ditched all the usual CGI imagery in favour of something more emotive and relatable, to truly stand out.”
